Admissions & Enrollment

Non-Discrimination Policy
PNP is committed to a policy of non-discrimination in providing service to children and their families without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, veteran status, military service, genetic information, gender identity, family structure or any other category protected under applicable law.

Admissions: Admissions

Applications are reviewed in the order that they are received; also, priority is given to siblings. However, Pollywogs Nature Playschool does not admit students on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, in making admissions decisions, I do my best to balance the number of girls and boys and ages and abilities when possible. It is also imperative that families understand and support the philosophical aims of the program.

Lastly, children must be developmentally ready for the program, regardless of chronological age. “Developmentally ready” can include such things as following directions, showing respect towards other children and their teacher, and communicating their needs. Please take this into serious consideration as deposits & fees are non-refundable if your child is not adjusting to the program.

To enroll, children must be 3-5 years old (2.9 -2.11 will be considered individually).

PLEASE NOTE: Children need to be potty trained to attend preschool. We are out in nature exploring every day, which makes changing pull-ups/diapers complicated, particularly with one teacher.

Weather-appropriate gear must be worn to school daily. You will receive a gear list for the school year with suggestions for dressing your child for comfort and protection from the elements.

Following your initial inquiry (click on the "inquire here" tab to access inquiry form),

1. You are asked to review the school website to get a better understanding of the philosophy and fill out an application (if enrollment is for the upcoming school year).

2. Submit the application to me.

3. We will then schedule a parent & child visit to the school (9:30 – 10 a.m. Mon, Tues or Fri.)

4. If a space is offered for your child, I will send the Parent Handbook and contract to you. Read carefully, complete the contract and send back to me within one week with the non-refundable commitment fee and supplies fee. This will register your child and secure your child’s place in the program.
